Warren College Undergraduate Research Scholarships

What is the Warren College Undergraduate Research Scholarship program?

Warren College Undergraduate Research Scholarships encourage outstanding Warren students to engage in scholarly research and creative or artistic experimentation. These scholarships provide support of up to $1,000 to subsidize travel, supplies, equipment, and other costs associated with these endeavors.

What are the eligibility requirements?

  • Must be a Warren student through the 2008-2009 academic year
  • Warren students from all majors are eligible to apply
  • U.S. citizenship is not a requirement
  • Minimum cumulative UCSD GPA of 3.0
  • Upper division status (a minimum of 90 units completed at the time of application) NOTE: Transfer students are eligible to apply after completing 24 units
  • A faculty sponsor must be secured by the applicant
  • The sponsor must approve the overall project and budgetary request
  • For applications involving human subjects research, proposals must be approved by an Institutional Review Board within the UCSD Human Research Protections Program (HRPP).  Please contact the HRPP at 858-455-5050 to obtain the necessary forms and approvals PRIOR to starting human subjects research.  If you have any questions about whether your research qualifies as human subjects research, please call HRPP or visit their website at http://irb.ucsd.edu.
