Congratulations to 2007 Warren Graduate Luis Tapia for his selection by the California Latino Legislative Caucus as one of six Polanco Fellows for 2007-2008!

Luis Tapia, a recent graduate of the Mexican Migration Field Research and Training Program (MMFRP), based in UCSD’s Center for Comparative Immigration Studies, has been chosen by the California Latino Legislative Caucus as one of six Polanco Fellows for 2007-08. Luis credits his participation in the MMFRP as giving him the edge in this very competitive selection process. The Polanco Fellows program is named after Senator Richard G. Polanco and began in 2003. Six participants are selected annually and the program is intended to help participants develop leadership skills, understand the legislative process, and foster an understanding of the role of public policy within society.
