[return to FAQs]

Where can I get a copy of my transcript?

You can obtain your transcript from TritonLink. If it's an emergency, complete a Student Inquiry Form requesting a transcript and we will have it for you within 72 hours.

What is the deadline for dropping a class?

Friday of the 4th week of the quarter if you want to drop without a "W". Friday of the 9th week of the quarter if you want to drop with a "W". If you want to drop a course with a "W" after the deadline, you should speak with the Intake Counselor.

Can I add a class after the second week deadline?

Yes, if it's before the 5th week, but a department-stamped add card is required. If you want to add during the 5th to 9th week of the quarter, you need a department-stamped add card and to see a counselor during Walk-in Advising for approval. Approval is not automatic. If you have requested a late add in the past, you may need to complete an Undergraduate Student Petition stamped by the department. The petition will be reviewed by the advising staff and an answer will be given within 48 hours.

Is my major a BS degree or BA degree?

You can find that information in the UCSD catalog (page 11).

Can I take a community college course this summer to clear my UC Entry Level Writing Requirement?

You can only clear your UC Entry Level Writing Requirement by taking a community college writing course before you matriculate (begin courses) to UCSD.

You c an do so via WebReg.

How can I use my AP (Advanced Placement) credit towards graduation?

There is a chart on AP course equivalency in the UCSD catalog (page 48-49) as well as the Warren Academic Advising Handbook. If you have questions, you'll need to speak to an academic counselor.

How do I change my grading option from PASS/NO PASS to a letter grade (or vice versa)?

You can change it on WebReg if it's before the deadline (end of the 4th week of the quarter). Otherwise it is too late to change it. After the 4th week, you need to speak with the intake counselor.

I want to add another course which would give me 20 units, but WebReg won't let me.

You can only enroll in 19.5 units through WebReg during pre-enrollment. You will need to add the other course the during first week of the quarter. You can add up to 22 units without an advisor's signature. Beyond 22 units you will need to see a counselor at Walk-in Advising.
