FAQs - Academic Honors

[return to FAQs]

How can I get Provost Honors?

To be eligible for Provost Honors, you must have taken at least twelve graded units (excluding pass/no pass classes) and receive a GPA of 3.5 or higher in any given quarter.

Why is it that the Provost Honors note does not show up on TritonLink or transcripts when my grades satisfy the Provost Honors requirements?

Provost Honors is assigned automatically by the system only at the end of the quarter. Thus, it is not reflected on your record if you have an Incomplete (IP) or a pending grade. You can contact the Records Unit of the Registrar's Office or Warren College Academic Advising Office (858-534-4350 or VAC) to have this reflected on your record.

How can I get University Honors at graduation?

You need to be within the top 14% of the previous year's graduating seniors and have at least 80 graded units.

How can I find out what GPA I would need to have?

You can obtain the GPAs for last year's graduating seniors and each honors designation from the Warren College Advising Office, 858-534-4350.
