Note: Any transfer student who has not completed one of the above transfer programs must complete the same general education requirements as entering Freshman. Please see an academic counselor for a copy of the Academic Advising Handbook.
Graduation Requirements
American History and Institutions: A knowledge of American history and of the principles of American institutions under the federal and state constitutions is required of all candidates for the bachelor’s degree. Consult the UCSD General Catalog for the criteria to meet this requirement.
Major: Requires twelve or more 4.0 unit upper-division courses in addition to lower-division prerequisites for the major. Please consult your major department for questions regarding your specific major requirements.
Maximum/Minimum Units for Graduation: A minimum of 180 units required for a B.A. and B.S. A minimum of 60 units must be taken at the upper-division level. Students are limited to 200 units for B.A. and B.S. in Arts and Sciences, 230 units for B.S. Engineering, and 240 units for double majors.
Residency: Thirty-five (35) units of the last forty-five (45) units must be taken at UCSD as a Warren College student.
Pass/Not Pass: No more than one-fourth (25%) of an undergraduate student’s units completed at UCSD may be graded as Pass/Not Pass. Please note that most majors require a letter grade to meet their requirements. *As a transfer student, please note below the letter grade requirements to be eligible for honors.
Honors: Must receive letter grades for at least eighty (80) quarter-units of coursework at the University of California and attain the required grade point average for cum laude, summa cum laude).*
GPA: A minimum of 2.0 overall for graduation. Major GPA requirements may differ by department. (See the UCSD General Catalog for details).
Warren College Transfer General Education Requirement
Two Non-Contiguous Courses
Two non-contiguous (unrelated to your major) upper-division courses are required. These courses must be taken at UCSD, must be 4.0 units each, and must be upper-division (courses numbered as 100 or above). They may be taken on a Pass/No Pass basis, and may be contiguous to each other.

For example, if you are a Biology major, your two upper division non-contiguous courses might be from History and Visual Arts. Or they might be an Anthropology course and a Philosophy course.
