If you're a Warren student who likes to write, if you'd like to help others write, if you'd like to learn more about the writing process...

In addition to monetary payment, students serving as writing mentors will receive academic credit and will be enrolled in WARR 189: Academic Mentoring and the Writing Process. Writing mentors must commit to at least three hours of work in the Writing Center each week, to be arranged according to individual schedules.

Requirements:

  • junior/senior standing
  • completion of Warren Writing 10A/10B (or the equivalent) with a grade of B or better
  • completion of PHIL/POLI 27 (Ethics and Society) with a grade of B or better
  • cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • submission of writing samples (two papers written for any UCSD course) and a brief interview with the Writing Center coordinator
