Welcome Parents

It is with sincere enthusiasm that we welcome you to Warren College and UCSD. Your students have demonstrated considerable academic prowess in order to arrive at this threshold. They are about to embark on a marvelous adventure, one that will significantly shape their world view and their future. Their time at UCSD will be a journey of growth and discovery, full of obstacles to overcome and accomplishments to savor. Your wisdom and support throughout are essential elements in their development as responsible citizen scholars.

Warren College is committed to providing students a supportive environment that will stimulate their intellectual, social, and emotional growth. The college experience at UCSD allows students to live and learn in a relatively intimate setting while affording them the great resources of an internationally renowned research university.

As students enter college, they experience a barrage of conflicting emotions ranging from the heady joys of a new degree of personal freedom to homesickness and a sense of dislocation. They encounter anxiety over grades and college-level material as well as great pride when they solve a knotty problem or receive their first A on an exam. Throughout it all, your good counsel and advice will prove invaluable.
