Transfer Student Orientation

Welcome to the Warren College family and UC San Diego Triton community.

Your journey to Warren College at UC San Diego begins when you accept your offer and receive your Triton Checklist. Be sure to activate your UC San Diego student email account early to receive our Warren College Orientation Connection Newsletter. Our professional staff will email you throughout the summer with regular reminders and helpful tips to support your successful transition to college life at UC San Diego.

 

Warren College Orientation consists of three components:

PART ONE: Academic Planning Webinar

Mandatory Virtual Advising webinar sessions hosted by our Academic Advising team which will begin the week of July 24 to August 4, 2023. For additional information, please contact Warren Advising at waadvising@ucsd.edu.

PART TWO: Canvas Modules

Mandatory assignments you complete on your own time in Canvas, UC San Diego’s Learning Management System. Canvas will be available to students beginning August 18 at 12:00 AM (PST). Deadline to complete Canvas assignments is September 17 at 11:59 PM (PST).

PART THREE: In-Person Fall Orientation

Fall Orientation:

Your Fall Orientation experience is led by an Orientation Leader (OL), who is a current UC San Diego student. Learn about Warren College traditions, deepen your understanding of academic support and campus resources, and explore co-curricular opportunities.

Orientation Registration:

Fall Orientation experience is a mandatory in-person program held on September 22, and 25. Orientation registration opens mid-June on the Colleges Orientation Registration or “COR” website. Spaces per session are limited.Deadline to register for Orientation is July 28, 2023. Register early to secure session dates and times that fit your schedule at cor.ucsd.eduSpace within each session is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Session 101: Friday, September 22- 8:30 AM- 2 PM 
For the September 22 session, early housing is available at a nightly rate of $50. You will not be able to move in on the same day as orientation. We encourage local and commuter students to attend this session. 

Session 102: Monday, September 25- 8:30 AM- 2 PM (This session is FULL)
This session is open to Out of State and International students. For California residents that do not live within the greater San Diego area, email wow@ucsd.edu to register. 

 


***If you fail to register a HOLD can be placed on your student account preventing you from enrolling in classes. The HOLD will be removed once Orientation registration has been completed.*** 

Note:  DUO Two-Step Login is a security feature that requires verification of identity when logging into UC San Diego protected systems. After setting up your Active Directory credentials (student email), you must register for Duo before you can access any UC San Diego Single-Sign On (SSO) based site or application, including all New Student Orientation websites.

Be sure to check your UC San Diego email regularly. Our professional staff will email you the Orientation Connection Newsletter throughout the summer with regular reminders and helpful tips to support your successful transition to college life. Your student Orientation Leaders will email you and introduce themselves in late-August.


 

Information for On-Campus Residents:

All students who have a contract for on-campus housing will be notified of the move-in process by Housing, Dining, Hospitality (HDH) in late August. You are NOT allowed to move-in on the same day as your Orientation session. If you fail to attend Orientation because of move-in, you will be marked absent and have a hold placed on your account. You will need to complete make-up assignments in order to remove the hold.

 

If you are a new incoming International Student, some additional programs may be required.

Have Your Plans Changed?

If your plans to attend UC San Diego have changed, please complete and submit the "Decline My Offer of Admission After Acceptance" form at the bottom of your Applicant Portal. If you do not formally decline your acceptance, you will receive a bill for New Student Orientation. If you decline your acceptance after attending Orientation, you will still be billed and are responsible for the fees owed.
