General Information on Selection of UCSD Transferable Courses
General Information
Any courses intended to fulfill UCSD requirements must be transferable. Check www.assist.org for transferability
All courses taken at a community college will transfer as lower-division courses
Do not take courses that duplicate AP, IB or other college credit
Entry Level Writing Requirement (ELWR)
If you have not yet fulfilled the Entry Level Writing Requirement (ELWR) requirement, take an approved transferable Writing course at your local Community College to meet this requirement.
Program of Concentration (PofC) or Area Study (A/S)
To choose courses toward the Program of Concentration (PofC) or Area Study (A/S) requirements in one of the following — Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, History, Literature (English, not Comp/Writing), Math, Music, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Sociology, Theatre (Drama), Visual Arts (Art):
Choose transferable courses from the Department of your PofC or Area Study choice. Note: Courses for other PofC or Area Study requisites will need to be individually reviewed.
