Student Well-Being

Well-being is an important element for students to consider as they work toward successful completion of their academic journey.  Warren College and UC San Diego offer a variety of services to ensure that students are in good mental and physical health.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS offers services that help students to find a more satisfying balance, and to promote healthy adjustment to campus life. Individual, group, couples/cohort, family counseling services are offered to students. Depression, excessive anxiety, relationship difficulties, eating/body image concerns, cultural/sexuality identity issues are just some examples of the concerns for which students may seek help. Student Health Service

Student Health Service provides quality primary medical care, including urgent care and support services such as laboratory, pharmacy, and x-ray. The staff includes primary care physicians who are board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Some physicians also have additional training and expertise in Gynecology, Sports Medicine, Rheumatology, Urgent Care, and Mental/Behavioral Health.

The SHS health promotion and disease prevention programs encourage all students to develop positive health behaviors now and for the future.

Registered UCSD students are invited to participate in recreation classes, weight room, and fitness facilities in the Main Gym, RIMAC, Canyonview Aquatic Complex Facilities, and the Natatorium. The Recreation Center also has a climbing center, an Outback Adventure program, equipment rentals, a high ropes team-building program called the Challenge Course, a Masters Swim program, as well as many class offerings including yoga, kick boxing, and pilates. Health, Recreation & Well-Being

The Health, Recreation & Well-Being cluster is comprised of several wellness departments on campus, including Student Health Services (SHS), Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Sexual Assault & Violence Prevention Resource Center (SARC) and Recreation.

The cluster also includes The Zone, a lounge for student well-being located in Price Center Plaza. Together, the Well-Being cluster works to promote the flourishing of UC San Diego students in the 8 Dimensions of Well-Being through a wide variety of workshops, events, and programs.

CARE: Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education at the Sexual Assault Resource Center

Campus Advocacy, Resources, and Education at the Sexual Assault Resource Center works to educate and advocate for students through policy development and campus-wide collaborations. They provide education and support services that empower students, faculty, and staff.

CARE at SARC offers workshops on violence prevention for the entire UCSD campus and provides free and confidential services for students impacted by violence, with a focus on survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
