Welcome to Warren Residential Life
The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 12:00pm; 1:00pm – 4:30pm. The Residential Life Office oversees all aspects of the Warren Residential Life Community, including but not limited to administrative functions such as: student conduct; room change requests (beginning week 3 of Fall 2016); contract cancellation requests; mailboxes distribution; campus resource referrals; and, acting as the primary liaison to Housing/Dining Administration. In addition, the office also provides community and student leadership development, overseeing our paraprofessional student employees, managing the Student Activity Center, mentoring several campus organizations, and sponsoring various student programs.
Dana Pysz: Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life
The new director will start Aug 2016.
Cesar Figueroa, Ed.D: Assistant Director of Residence Life
Dr. Cesar Figueroa has worked at four UC Campuses: UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz and now UC San Diego. Received B.A. from UC Irvine, M.Ed. University of Maryland-College Park, Advanced Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension, and his doctorate in Educational Leadership at UCSD.
Jennifer Klage Amerine: Assistant Director of Residence Life
Jennifer graduated from UC San Diego, Warren College, with a BA in Political Science and minors in Health Care-Social Issues and History. As an undergrad at Warren College she held many leadership positions. One of which was the Resident Assistant position for two years and Community Coordinator position for one year. Jennifer received her M.Ed. from San Diego State University.
Born and raised in Central California, Jennifer enjoys the weather in San Diego where the temperature is about the same all year around. She also enjoys reading and traveling.
Adriana Campuzano: Administrative Assistant
Adriana provides assistance to staff and students in the Residential Life Office. Adriana is a native San Diegan. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences. She had the pleasure to work with J. Kevin Wood when she began working at Warren Residential Life. Her hobbies include photography, scrapbooking, quilting and Kakuro.
Resident Assistants (RA's)
Resident Assistants are undergraduate students who have undergone a rigorous selection and training process. They live in the Warren Residential Complex and work with residents to develop a sense of community, facilitate open and sensitive communication among apartment/suite mates, and organize social, educational, recreational, and cultural activities. RAs are involved with many college and campus-wide activities and are great sources of information. They also are responsible for reminding residents to abide by the rules and regulations while residing in the residential complex.
Community Coordinators (CC's)
Community Coordinators work closely with Resident Assistants to assist in community building throughout the Warren Residential Complex. Community Coordinators assist in the management of 7-10 Resident Assistants, mentor Resident Assistants in community programming and roommate mediation, and assist in disciplinary confrontations.
Community Development Intern (CDI)
The Community Development Intern (CDI) works specifically with CleRHCs, Warren College’s Residential Hall Council. The CDI is the CleRHCs Chair and assists with the development of student leaders within this organization. The CDI also works closely with the Warren Residential Life Professional Staff and the Community Coordinators to help the Resident Assistants in their programming efforts.
Programing Intern (PI)
The Warren Residential Life Programming Intern works with the Programming Assistants (PA's). The main function of the PI is to develop a community throughout the Warren Complex. The PI assists in the training of the PA's and works closely with the Res Life professional team.
Programming Assistants (PA's)
The Programming Assistants (PA) are paid undergraduate students who work under the direction of the Warren Residential Life Office. The PA’s primarily report to the supervising Assistant Director of Residence Life and receive work direction from the Programming Intern. The primary role of the PA is to create programs/events that will foster community development within the Warren Community involvement.
Office Assistants (OA's)
The Office Assistants (OA) are paid undergraduate students who work in the Warren Residential Life Office at the front desk. The primary role is to attend to the day-to-day business of a front desk including but not limited to: answering phone calls, responding to emails, assisting students with lockouts, etc.
