Welcome to Warren Residential Life

Welcome to the Warren Residential Community. The staff in the Residential Life Office are here to help when students check into or out of the Warren Apartments or Residential Halls, change rooms, have a maintenance concern, plan an activity or program, have a question, suggestion, or complaint, or need information, mediation, counseling, or advice. The Resident Dean, Assistant Resident Deans, and thirty undergraduate para-professional staff (Community Coordinators and Resident Advisors) all live in the Warren housing complex. When the office is closed, someone is on duty and available.

Meet the Professional Staff

Claire Palmer: Resident Dean

Our Resident Dean, Claire Palmer takes great pride in her “Maine-iac” heritage. She’s a small town girl who grew up in close to Baxter State Park in northern Maine. Claire completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Maine. During her college years, Claire maintained an active lifestyle as she was a two sport intercollegiate athlete playing both basketball and field hockey. Additionally, she discovered the world of residential life when she worked two years as a resident advisor and four summers as a counselor with the university’s Upward Bound program.  Claire has worked at various universities; U Maine, West Chester University - PA, Chaminade University - Honolulu, Semester at Sea, and is beginning her twenty first year at UC San Diego.

One of Claire's core values is personal accountability.  As Warren students find their place in the residential community, she hopes that residents will actively seek creative ways to make a positive contribution to the Warren neighborhood. Cesar Figueroa: Assistant Resident Dean

Cesar has worked at three UC Campuses: UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz. Received B.A. from UC Irvine, M.Ed. University of Maryland-College Park, Advanced Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension, and Currently ABD in Educational Leadership at UCSD.

Jennifer Klage: Assistant Resident Dean

Jennifer graduated from UC San Diego, Warren College, with a BA in Political Science and minors in Health Care-Social Issues and History. She received her M.Ed. from San Diego State University. Born and raised in Central California, Jennifer enjoys the weather in San Diego where the temperature is about the same all year around. She also enjoys reading and traveling.

Adriana Campuzano: Administrative Assistant

Adriana provides assistance to staff and students in the Residential Life Office. Adriana is a native San Diegan. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Mathematical Sciences. She had the pleasure to work with J. Kevin Wood when she began working at Warren Residential Life. Her hobbies include photography, scrapbooking, quilting and Kakuro.

Chrystal Basil: Office Manager

Chrystal was born and raised in Los Angeles, Chrystal received a BA in Psychology and minors in Biology and Economics from UCSD –Third College aka Marshall College. She married fellow Third College Alum, Erik, has one son named Joseph, and a Labrador Retriever named “Gromit.” Chrystal enjoys mountain biking, bowling, camping, cooking/baking and watching movies. She also spends lots of time as a leader in her son’s Cub Scout pack.
