Claire Palmer: Associate Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Residence Life
Our Director of Residence Life, Claire Palmer, takes great pride in her “Maine-iac” heritage. She’s a small town girl who grew up close to Baxter State Park in northern Maine. Claire completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Maine. During her college years, Claire maintained an active lifestyle as she was a two sport intercollegiate athlete playing both basketball and field hockey. Additionally, she discovered the world of residential life when she worked two years as a resident advisor and four summers as a counselor with the university’s Upward Bound program. Claire has worked at various universities; U Maine, West Chester University - PA, Chaminade University - Honolulu, Semester at Sea, and is in her twenty-fourth year at UC San Diego.
One of Claire's core values is personal accountability. As Warren students find their place in the residential community, she hopes that residents will actively seek creative ways to make a positive contribution to the Warren neighborhood. If you need suggestions of how to make a difference or just need a hug, stop by to say hello to Claire in the Residential Life Office.
