WCSC Membership

The President serves as the official representative of WCSC and the Warren College Student Body. They assemble the agenda of and chair the meetings of WCSC and chair the WCSC executive board. Attends and leads Executive Board meetings.

Assists the President, organizes the Warren College Student Council retreat and chairs the Internal, Appointments, and Rules Committees. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Assists the President in the execution of the President duties, chairs the External Committee and e-Scholarship Committee and is responsible for the management of the technical equipment system. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Responsible for taking and distributing meeting minutes, in charge of attendance. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Drafts the annual budget; acts as a liaison between WCSC and the Warren College Business Office and presents the status of the budget and estimate account balances. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Serves as an advisor to the President and WCSC on matters of parliamentary procedure and WCSC rules and procedures; assists the President in the operation of WCSC meetings. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Responsible for the coordination and success of WCSC Events Board events, represents the WCSC Events Board on issues including funding and acquiring additional volunteers for programs. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Responsible for the coordination and success of Community Conduct Outreach Board (CCOB) events and represented CCOB on issues including funding and acquiring additional volunteers for programs. Attends Executive Board meetings.

Full voting member of WCSC. Will attend UC San Diego Associated Students (A.S.) council, senate, and committee meetings. Represents Warren to A.S. with a partner senator. Acts as the liaison between A.S. and WCSC. Responsible for two senator projects for the term.

Represents the needs and concerns of Warren College commuter students and attended the All Campus Commuter Board meetings as the WCSC representative.

Full voting member of WCSC. Attends any related academic advising meetings. Shall advocate on behalf of Warren students for any changes in Warren general education requirements (GEs). Shall have a working relationship with the Warren Academic Advising staff. Required: Must have completed the Warren College Writing Program (WCWP) and be in good academic standing.

Full voting member of WCSC. Represents the needs and concerns of Warren College first year students. Required to complete projects to meet the needs of first year students. Serves as the Warren representative on UC San Diego’s First Year Council, comprised of first year representatives from all six colleges. Required: Must be a first year student.

Full voting member of WCSC and the Warren Transfer and Commuter Commission (WTCC). Shall represent the needs and concerns of Warren College transfer students in the All Campus Transfer Association (ACTA) and Transfer Student Services Committee (TSSC). Required: Must be a transfer student.

Represents the needs and concerns of Warren College International students at council meetings.

Shall be the official media contact for all WCSC-related matters. Shall establish and maintain connections with UCSD and Warren-specific media organizations in order to publicize WCSC events and actions among the Warren College and UCSD community. Shall collaborate with the Website Coordinator to increase WCSC visibility.

Shall assist the Director of Marketing in fulfilling their duties and be responsible for gaining the skills and knowledge from the Director of Marketing to potentially succeed them at the end of their term. Responsibilities of the Director of Marketing and their shadow include publicizing WCSC events and actions among the Warren College and UCSD community.

Shall be accountable for everything on the WCSC website. Responsible for posting the WCSC agenda and minutes on the website each week. Must maintain an information section of all members of WCSC and post the most current version of the Constitution and the Bylaws.

Serves on SHWAB as the Warren College representative and acts as the liaison between SHWAB and WCSC. Plans various events to promote a healthy lifestyle and makes suggestions for different health ideas for students. Attends meetings with the Student Wellness Cluster Department Directors as requested.

Serves on Student Outreach and Voter Access Committee as the Warren College representative and acts as the liaison between SOVAC and WCSC. Helps plan voter registration drives and encourages students to vote during election times. Attends meetings with the Student Organized Voter Action Committee as requested.

Serves as Provost's Student Advisory Council representative and acts as a liaison between PSAC and WCSC. The Provost's Student Advisory Council, or PSAC, was initiated in the fall of 2004 by Provost Steven Adler to elicit student perspectives on college initiatives and programs.

Serves as Student Fees Advisory Committee representative and acts as a liaison between SFAC and WCSC. Acts as the Warren College representative in the SFAC meetings, and participates in the discussions and decisions pertaining student fees and campus finance.

Shadows the current SFAC Representative. The current SFAC Representative serves as Student Fees Advisory Committee representative and acts as a liaison between SFAC and WCSC. Acts as the Warren College representative in the SFAC meetings, and participates in the discussions and decisions pertaining student fees and campus finance. The SFAC shadow will attend these meetings in the event the current representative is unable to attend. Takes on the position in hopes of taking over the position once the current chair terms out of office.

Serves on the all-campus Housing & Dining committee as the Warren College representative. Acts as the liaison between WCSC and Housing & Dining committee. Makes improvements and gives suggestions on housing and dining issues. Attends all HDH meetings.

Acts as Recreation Facilities Advisory Board (RFAB) Representative within Warren College Student Council, served as the Warren College representative in the RFAB meetings, and participated in the discussions and decisions pertaining to the campus recreational facilities.

Acts as the liaison between WCSC and the University Centers Advisory Board (UCAB). Required to attend UCAB meetings to give input on the operations of University Centers like Price Center and the Old Student Center. Responsible for gauging student opinion on topics like reducing Price Center’s hours or potential new dining options.

Shadows the current UCAB Representative. The current representative acts as the liaison between WCSC and the University Centers Advisory Board (UCAB) and is required to attend UCAB meetings to give input on the operations of University Centers like Price Center and the Old Student Center. The UCAB shadow will attend these meetings in case the current representative is unable to attend. Takes on the position in hopes of taking over the position once the current chair terms out of office.

Serves on Associated Students Concerts & Events committee that organizes campus-wide events and acts as the liaison between ASCE and Warren College programming. Attends regular meetings for A.S. Concerts & Events.

Facilitates communication between students and the library. Conveys student needs, concerns, and priorities to library. Responsible for attending two quarterly meetings with the Library Student Advisory Committee.

Acts as the liaison between WCSC and Warren Residential Life. Responsible for keeping RAs up to date with WCSC information and events and sharing residential information with WCSC. Encouraged to help promote WCSC events through amongst residents. Required: Must be a Warren RA for the current academic year.

Acts as Student Mental Health Advisory Committee representative within Warren College Student Council, serves as the Warren College representative in the SMHAC meetings, and participates in the discussions and decisions pertaining to the campus recreational facilities.

Encourage student involvement in sustainability on campus and specifically in Warren. Give input on programming and resources allocated for projects to ensure low waste production and host environmentally friendly events/programs.

Focus specifically on issues relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion in Warren College. Encourage and expand Warren College Student Council’s efforts to create a more inclusive community on-campus. Advocate for programs or initiatives that support our campus community. Coordinate with UC San Diego’s variety of resource centers.

Focus on food and housing insecurity and how those issues affect Warren students. Develop ideas to address food and housing insecurity as well as other basic needs students have. Support Basic Needs initiatives in Warren College and Warren College Student Council. Coordinate with UC San Diego’s Basic Needs Hub

Serves as a chair for the Warren Transfer and Commuter Commission and managed meetings for the student commission.

Serves as a co-chair for the Warren Concerts and Festivals Commission and manages meetings for the student commission. Provides direction for the annual Warren Live concert.

Shadows the WCFC Chair(s) and assists with executing the Warren Live Concert. Assists in coordinating Warren Concerts Commission meetings. Takes on the position in order to gain experience to potentially take over the position of the Chair(s) once they term out of office.

Each member is responsible for planning and executing at least one event. Attends WCSC meetings as well as additional Events Board meetings.
