Earl Warren College was founded in 1974 as the fourth college at UC San Diego. In 1974, we welcomed the inaugural class of 480 students to the Warren family. During the 2024-2025 academic year, we celebrated 50 years toward a life in balance. DJ Patil is an entrepreneur, investor, scientist, and leader in public policy. He has held senior roles in industry, academia, and government and his work has been featured in two Michael Lewis books (The Fifth Risk and Premonition). As a General Partner at GreatPoint Ventures he focuses on building companies in healthcare, enterprise technologies, and national security.
