Leadership & Employment Opportunities

When student employment positions are available, job announcements will be posted on the Warren College Home Page and the Career Services Handshake Job Portal (formerly PortTriton). Leadership and volunteer positions are posted on the Warren College website and communicated via the Warren College Events Email.

Orientation Leaders (OLs)

Approximately 30 Warren College students are hired each year to be Orientation Leaders and assist incoming freshman and transfer students with their transition to Warren College and the UC San Diego campus. As OLs, they provide leadership and guidance throughout the summer via e-mail and lead new students through the Orientation programs in the Fall Quarter. Orientation Leaders come from all academic majors and all areas of the country, but have one thing in common: they are all excited about being Warren College students and want to pass that passion on to new students as they transition to the campus community.  OLs can expect to work in the position from April-September and are expected to be available to work on-campus during training and Orientation sessions.

Orientation Assistants (OAs)

Approximately 7 Warren College students are hired each year to be Orientation Assistants.  Orientation Assistants coordinate the logistics of the Warren College Orientation Programs including materials preparation, registration, presenter support, and campus tour coordination.  OAs can expect to work in the position from May-September and are expected to be available to work on-campus during training and Orientation sessions.

Residential Life Staff

Resident Assistants (RAs)

Resident Assistants are undergraduate students that  live in the Warren Residential Complex and work with residents to develop a sense of community, facilitate open and sensitive communication among apartment/suite mates, and organize social, educational, recreational, and cultural activities. Community Coordinators (CCs)

Residential Life Community Coordinators work closely with the Assistant Directors of Residence Life and Resident Assistants to assist in creating community throughout the Warren Residential Complex. Community Coordinators assist in the supervision of 8-10 Resident Assistants, mentor Resident Assistants in community programming, roommate mediation, and assist in disciplinary confrontations. Community Coordinators must have prior experience as an RA.

Community Development Intern (CDI)

The Warren Community Development Intern works closely with the Assistant Directors of Residence Life as well as the Resident Assistants to assist in building community throughout the Warren Residential Complex. The CDI serves as the Warren Resident Council Chair and assists with the development of student leaders within this organization. The CDI also serves as a paraprofessional staff member. Applicants must have been a Resident Assistant or an active WRC (or other res council) member.

Residential Life Programming Intern

The Warren Residential Life Programming Intern works closely with the Assistant Directors of Residence Life as well as the Resident Assistants to assist in building community throughout the Warren Residential Complex. The Program Intern works primarily with SAC Programming with secondary responsibilities towards WAVE, Warren Association of Volunteer Enthusiasts.  The Programming Intern is the WAVE Chair and assists with the development of student leaders within this organization. The Programming Intern also serves as a paraprofessional staff member.  It is preferred (although not required) that applicants have been a Resident Assistant or have been an active member of WAVE.

Residential Life Office Assistant

Under general supervision of the Fiscal & Facilities Coordinator, the Warren Residential Life Office Assistant (OA) is responsible for overall day-to-day functions related to office administration and programming support of the Warren Residential Life Office. This position provides a great opportunity to develop valuable administrative skills in a friendly, convivial work setting with a small, dynamic team. 

Student Activity Center Associate (SACA)

Under general supervision of the Fiscal & Facilities Coordinator, the Warren Student Activity Center Associate (SACA) is responsible for overseeing the Student Activity Center. Incumbent monitors facility operations, sorts mail packages, and facilitates weekly programming. Great opportunity to develop management and organizational skills with a small, dynamic team.


Student Affairs Interns

The Student Affairs Interns assist the Dean's staff in enhancing the mission of Warren College. Currently, Student Affairs interns work with graphic design, publications, and programming.
