Important Scheduling Notes:
Check-In Location: Warren Student Activity Center (SAC) - number 2 on the map below.
What to Bring: Valid ID (UCSD ID, Driver’s License, or Passport) + QwikPass + Triton Student Number (TSN)*
Vehicle Limit: 1 vehicle per student to limit traffic congestion
Unloading Time: 30 minutes maximum at temporary curbside unloading zones. When the 30 minutes are up you will need to move your car to the nearest parking structure (we suggest “Hopkins Parking Structure”).
Moving Carts: Limited bins are available at the SAC (45-min limit; last checkout at 3:30 PM). We strongly encourage bringing your own dolly or wagon!
Parking Rules & Tips:
Transportation is implementing a new voucher system for 2026 Move-In! At the time of your arrival you will see signs with QR Codes in the loading/unloading areas:
Unload First: Park in temporary 30-minute move-in spots. Do not park in Reserved spaces (monitored 24/7; citations will be issued).
Move Your Car: After unloading, move your vehicle to standard visitor parking. The closest lot is the Hopkins Parking Structure.
Pay for Parking: Purchase a day permit via the ParkMobile App using Zone #4752 (there is no parking grace period prior to the quarter start).
View the Warren Residential Neighborhood Map to plan your route.
Bring your own linens such as towels, pillow(s), mattress pad including bedding to fit an extra-long twin bed (36" x 80"). Personal care items are important for your self-care, bring personal items such as toiletries, hair care products, over the counter medications, and hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes. Don't forget your school supplies such as your computer/laptop/tablet, headphones, backpack, a non-halogen desk lamp, and a power surge protector. San Diego is a temperate climate, in support of sustainability efforts, our communities do not have air conditioning, so make sure to bring a fan for the few days our temperatures are over 75 degrees.
Once you receive your room assignment in August, it’s a GREAT idea to check with roommates and figure out who will bring larger items to share. Some residents like to purchase items together once they move in. Examples include:
- mini refrigerator (smaller than five cubic feet with a safe UL-approved electrical system)
- microwave
- television
- printer
- mini-vacuum
- Bike Lock – U Shaped (see UCPD website)
- Emergency Kit and basic first aid supplies

Move-In Market:
Take part in our inaugural “Move-In Market”! Last year, our departing residents generously donated many gently-used items intended to go directly to new incoming students to save them some shopping time and money. Hundreds of items ranging from clothes hangers to drawers to microwaves were inspected and meticulously catalogued via the ReDorm platform and are now open for your selection. Please note there is a LIMITED amount of items, so take a look and stake a claim to up to five items while inventory lasts!

Triton Weeks of Welcome (TWOW):
Move-in is just the beginning! Triton Weeks of Welcome (Week 0) features a full lineup of activities, special programs, and signature events to help you meet fellow Tritons and settle into campus life.
Enjoy the remaining weeks of your summer break—we can't wait to see you soon!
