Unfortunately, due to capacity concerns, our in-person Orientation program is only offered to incoming registered students. No guests or family will be permitted to attend, and are encouraged to visit the many attractions on and nearby campus.
While you wait for your student, we encourage you to become acquainted with the UC San Diego campus and the greater San Diego area as well. Here is a list of different ways you can pass the time while in San Diego. Most, if not all, of these locations are accessible by walking, taking a campus shuttle, or riding on San Diego's MTS public transit system

The New Family Orientation Hub is now open! We encourage you to share this resource with your family members as they prepare to support you during your transition to UC San Diego.
The virtual Family Orientation Hub is a one-stop resource featuring webinars and information from key campus offices on topics such as navigating the college transition, finances, health and wellness, campus living, and more. Families can explore resources at their own pace and register for live webinars throughout the summer.
We encourage all families to visit the Family Orientation Hub website to learn more and sign up for upcoming webinars.
